Product details.
A non-peptide ghrelin-receptor agonist
Most growth-hormone secretagogues studied in research are peptides that require reconstitution and injection. Ibutamoren is different: it is a spiropiperidine small molecule that binds the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) and, in the models studied, stimulates pulsatile growth-hormone release without suppressing endogenous production. Its oral bioavailability and long duration of action make it a common tool for studying once-daily stimulation of the GH axis.

Research areas
GH / IGF-1 axis
Studied for its ability to elevate growth-hormone and IGF-1 levels through ghrelin-receptor activation in research models.
Ghrelin signaling
Investigated as a GHS-R1a agonist for probing the ghrelin pathway’s role in appetite, energy balance, and growth-hormone release.
Body-composition research
Examined in metabolic models for effects on lean-mass and adipose-tissue signaling associated with sustained GH/IGF-1 elevation.
Sleep-architecture and bone research
Studied for reported interactions with slow-wave sleep patterns and bone-turnover markers in preclinical models.
Research applications
- Studied for GH and IGF-1 elevation via ghrelin-receptor activation
- Used as an oral, non-peptide alternative to injectable secretagogues in research
- Relevant to appetite, energy-balance, and metabolic signaling models
- Investigated in body-composition and lean-mass research
- Examined in sleep-architecture and bone-turnover research models
